KeyScout

Terms of Service

Effective: October 2026 · Last updated: October 2026

The short version

This summary is for convenience. The full terms below are what apply.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SavvyTech Consult LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company ("SavvyTech," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the KeyScout desktop app for Mac and Windows (the "App"), our website at getkeyscout.com (the "Site"), and related services (together, the "Services"). By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. If you use KeyScout on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

3. What KeyScout does

KeyScout helps you find the right API for a task and stores your API keys in a local vault on your computer. Your vault is kept on your device and is not sent to us. Smart search runs locally on your device. Its results are generated automatically, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and are provided for information only. You are responsible for evaluating any API, provider, or result before relying on it, and for complying with each API provider's own terms.

About once a day, the App checks whether each stored key still works by sending it directly from your device to that key's own provider (for example, OpenAI or GitHub), only to test that it is valid. These checks never pass through our servers. By storing a key in KeyScout, you authorize the App to make these checks. Any provider rate limits, logging, or charges for these requests are governed by that provider's terms.

4. Plans

Current prices, features, and limits are shown on the Site and at checkout. We may change features, limits, or prices for future purchases or renewal periods. We will give subscribers reasonable notice before a price change takes effect on renewal.

5. Payments and taxes

Payments are processed by Stripe. For some purchases, Stripe may act as the merchant of record or calculate, collect, and remit sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes on our behalf (Stripe Managed Payments). If so, your purchase may also be subject to Stripe's terms, and Stripe's name may appear on your receipt or statement. Prices may not include applicable taxes, which will be shown at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.

6. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

KeyScout Plus subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal (the link is in your license email and in the App) or by emailing [email protected]. When you cancel, you will not be charged again, and you will keep access to Plus features until the end of your current paid period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan.

What happens after a downgrade: When a subscription ends, or a Founder Pass reaches the end of its 5-year term, your plan reverts to Free. Keys already in your vault stay readable and exportable, even if you have more than the Free plan allows. You won't be able to add new keys beyond the Free plan's limits unless you upgrade again.

7. Refunds

If you're not happy, email [email protected] within 7 days of your first purchase of a plan for a full refund. This applies to the first purchase of each paid plan: monthly KeyScout Plus, yearly KeyScout Plus, and the Founder Pass. Subscription renewal charges are not refundable, but you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals (see Section 6). When a refund is issued, the related license is deactivated. Outside the 7-day window, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under applicable consumer law.

8. Your license

Subject to these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license for one person to install and use the App on up to 2 computers that you own or control, for your own use, within the limits of your plan. A license may not be shared among multiple people, even within the same company.

You may not:

The App checks in with our license server about once a day to validate your license. If the App can't reach the license server, your paid features keep working during a 14-day offline grace period. After that, the App reverts to Free limits until it checks in successfully again. Your vault always stays readable and exportable.

Moving to a new computer: If you've used both of your 2 computer slots, you can free one by deactivating the license in the App on the old computer, or by emailing [email protected]. Then activate the license on the new computer.

We and our licensors own all rights in the App, Site, and Services, including all intellectual property. These Terms do not give you any ownership rights. You own your data, including your API keys and vault contents.

9. Founder Pass term

The Founder Pass gives you KeyScout Plus for 5 years from the date of purchase, for a single one-time payment. It does not renew automatically. At the end of the 5-year term, your plan reverts to Free as described in Section 6, unless you choose to subscribe to KeyScout Plus. If we discontinue KeyScout before your term ends, we will try to give reasonable advance notice on the Site. The Founder Pass does not entitle you to separate products we may release in the future, and it may still be revoked under Section 10.

10. Suspension and revocation

We may suspend or revoke your license, without refund, if you breach these Terms, abuse the Services, share or resell your license, or engage in fraud. If you file a chargeback or payment dispute, or if a payment is reversed or found to be fraudulent, the related license will be revoked. If you believe this happened in error, contact us and we'll take a look. If you have a refund question, please email us first. We'll respond quickly, and it's much faster than a chargeback.

11. Your keys, your responsibility

Your API keys and vault are stored only on your device. We cannot see, access, recover, or restore them. You are solely responsible for:

We are not responsible for lost, deleted, corrupted, leaked, or misused keys, or for charges on your third-party accounts.

12. Third-party services

KeyScout may show or link to third-party APIs, websites, and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, security, or terms. Your use of any third-party service is between you and that provider.

13. Updates

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Some updates may be required to keep using the Services or validate your license.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Services will be secure, that smart search results will be accurate or complete, or that your data will not be lost.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SavvyTech Consult LLC and its members, managers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, keys, profits, revenue, business, or goodwill, or for unauthorized use of your keys or charges on third-party accounts, arising out of or related to the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SavvyTech Consult LLC from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, or in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and try to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. Nothing here takes away mandatory consumer protections you have under the laws of the place where you live.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page, update the "Last updated" date, and announce material changes on the Site. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise. If you keep using the Services after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Services and cancel any subscription.

19. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end the Services or your access as described in these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law.

20. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
